Power Supply Help

Go to solution Solved by CGurrell,

Ok so your 700W unit is actually dangerous right now, I would recommend not using the PC at all unless it's completely necessary.

with your current config, a good quality unit with a continuous power output of at least 450W is what you need. With this info, check out http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html. It's a great list that separates the good from the mediocre and the downright dangerous. Pick anything Tier 3 and up that can provide 450W or more, then look at the local stores or online stores that deliver to your area, and get cracking

Wanna ask about a question about my PSU it suddenly blows like burnt smell and I immediately turned off my PC and unplug everything and check the inside of my PSU and theres no burnt capacitors or bulge or smell like the one I smell at the back of the fan of the PSU and a few hours later i turn on my PC again and it works fine the blow of the PSU at the back smells normal now and the temp of my other hardwares is normal and my PSU is not actually a "RATED" its just a cheapo "GENERIC 700watts" one (still saving up for a better one) anyway my question is whats the problem of the PSU?

heres my specs:
amd phenom ii x6 1055t
gtx 750ti stormx dual
8gb ram
2 HDD

Because you have a low quality PSU without protections and can't stand heavy load (or in your case any load) and will probably die soon. Keep in mind that wattage costs a lot (cheap 700W unit is dangerous!). So if you are on a tight budget, pick a 3-400W unit (you are perfectly safe with 300W), and buy reliability instead of unnecessary wattage.
