I am planning to do my first ever pc build mostly for gaming, The budget is around $750 at best, I also do have compiled a partlist :

I have kb/m and I'll manage a monitor so that's that.

I am upgrading, well because I don't really like playing games at the lowest settings... Coming from integrated graphics, I do hope to see some boost in this regard(hopefully), I'll move to college after 2 years, So I will either stop using this pc or I'll upgrade it. I have a question, will the GTX 970 last that long ? I'm willing to play again on low if that's what it takes to get at least 20fps on 1080p. Smaller case because I will take this to LAN Parties sometimes(mostly to show it off, my friends hardly have a GT 730 and play on 720pB|) and will be possibly moving it from my monitor to play on TV and vice-versa.

Also I will be getting my parts over April through May, Since I'll get the GPU last, I'll ask the most obvious question, Should I wait for Pascal/Polaris ?

Please try and not recommend me the R9 390(Costs much more than the 970 I chose and only available from shady dealers) Or a better PSU(Unless this one is known to cause house fires or something:D)

P.S If this build does get outdated I can spare another $300 at the end of the 2nd year

Thanks!

Get 4th gen of Intel i5 because they are cheaper and there won't be much difference in performance.

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

I lowered the price by like $40, added a modular PSU from SeaSonic and replaced your $100 case with a case that has a side panel and blue led. You wanted to show off? It will show off your gpu and with the modular PSU it will have a cleaner look and a blue led. I put in 2x4 ram for dual channel (faster speed then single ram) Good luck
