Greetings!

So, I have kind of a weird problem with my PC, have had it for about a year or so. After the PC has been off for a little while and I start it up the performance is low when I start up a game, Battlefield 4, GTA V, CS:GO.... But after I shut the game(s) down and restart the PC the problem is gone. For instance when I first start Battlefield 4 the FPS is like 50-60~ and the screen is tearing, after restarting the FPS is well above 100 and the game runs smooth. Sometimes I have to restart several times for the performance to be "normal".
I have tried running MemTest86, which resulted fine, updated motherboard and GPU BIOS, installed all the newest drivers that are available, reformatted Widows several times, tried both Win 7, 8/8.1 and 10.

So I'm hoping some of you maybe have a clue to what is wrong/what I could try to do/test.

Setup:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770k
GPU: Gainward GeForce GTX 780
Storage: Intel 335 Series 240GB
Memory: Kingstone 8GB DDR
Motherboard: Asus Z-87 Deluxe

(Hope I posted this in the right category)

I had this problem and had to get a new motherboard to fix it. Are you using any of the PCI slots (not pci-e)? Try setting your pci-e slots to 2.0 mode too.

Next time you have it off for awhile and log back in... look at the date and time and make sure it still says 2016. If one is off for awhile it can revert to date it was made which was years ago and that can cause all kinds of screwy issues. Fix the time and reboot. Happens to mine all the time when I completely power down and leave it off for a day or two.

The time and date has always been correct
