PSU Buzzing and Sqealing

Hi. I've been using a Delta 500W PSU from an old prebuilt computer I got about 9 months ago, which I gutted and is now in my current system (see below post) with a better case and motherboard. The PSU has recently begun to make two noises: More consistently, a quiet but noticeable squealing sound. (Lower pitched than a squeal, more like a high pitched hum really) It sounds like the fan is just dying to me, as it does this all of the time except RIGHT on startup and the sound gets a bit louder under load. The second happens intermittently once I've had the machine powered on for a few hours. It makes a buzzing sound that sounds a lot like electricity arcing. I noticed that when I push the power cable into the PSU really hard, the buzzing will stop, making me think there's just a slight deformity in the socket for the power cable, causing it to buzz a little. However, the sound will return after I let go, as the cable refuses to stay in that securely. Only thing that's odd is that it has not always done this, only the last 2 months or so out of the ~9 months it's been in use. I haven't seen any system instability or anything like that the entire time I've been using the PSU, so my question is: Because I'm thinking of replacing it soon anyways, how urgent should that be (i.e. what are the chances like that this thing dies spectacularly and takes my rig with it)? it will not affect any life of any of the components
