downgrading a BIOS

Go to solution Solved by leipero,

You can downgrade BIOS without problem, same procedure as upgrading, I've done it 100 times. If you can't do it, it will be noted on manif. site under download section.

I've recently "updated" my bios to the latest version, but have had trouble with it since doing so and would like to revert back to the previous bios I was running. To do this, would I just go through the same process as I did to "upgrade" it, but with the old bios file?

For the record, my motherboard is the Asus P8Z68-M Pro, my current (Bad) bios version is 4003, and I'd like to go back to 4002.

I wish it was that easy, unfortunately I also wish I could revert back to my original bios, could have even lower voltages than I have now.

My keyboard doesn't function properly with the new one, but was fine with the old.

Also sound seems a bit wonky now that I've gone to the latest.

Edit: Sound is fine, it was just that one YouTube video I was watching at the time. It seems to just be USB that's the problem.

I know for my Z77A-GD65 mobo, i just load the bios version onto a flash drive and update in bios that way.  I reverted from A10 back to the A7 because it was conflicting with my O.C. very very badly.  Just read up on your ASUS manual, check Guru3D, or just go to ASUS support site for download files and instructions.

Just be sure to check, if you have the dual bios featuer on your mobo, that you update both of them.  You CAN keep one as an older version, but depending on the changes in the BIOS you can't run them at diff versions sometimes.  As of late, MSI has produced updates that gave this conflict.
