I will try to explain my problem the best I can, however, if you need some information, don't hesitate to ask, please.

My pc specs are:
CPU: Intel i5 6600-k
Cooler: 212 evo
GPU: Msi gtx 970
Motherboard: Msi z170 gaming m5
PSU: evga supernova 550w
Ram: corsair vengeance 16gb ddr4

I tried overclocking on this pc for the first tim earlier today, based on a video I saw on youtube from a guy with the same cpu and mobo than me, I set the multiplier to 42 (achieving 4200mhz) and the voltage to 1,25. The pc booted just fine and I ran about 15 minutes of Aida64 stress test and all seemed ok, so I assumed everything was ok. I stopped the test, started google chrome and it crashed in about 1 minute when I was on facebook. So i went and gave it a little more voltage like everyone I saw suggested setting it to 1,29, the same thing happened, so I ended up giving up on the overclocking attempt, went to the BIOS to set optimized defaults again (like it was before I tried overclocking) and started the pc again, and google chrome crashed on facebook again, this also happens with heaven benchmark, with razer cortex, google earth, any possible game, but I find it weird that I can perfectly run stress tests like aida64 and 3dmark, I can only run spotify and microsoft edge without any problem. I also tried removing the graphics card and using the hdmi port on the motherboard, and when I do that, the monitor doesn't recognize any signal.

I then thought it might be a Windows problem, and ran the sfc/scannow command, it told me that I had corrupted files but that it couldn't fix it, so I completely formatted every disk on my PC and tried reeinstalling windows, but then when I started it up, it didn't give any signal to the monitor, and the debug led code showed 35 that according to the mobo manual means early CPU initialization, what is this?

Does anybody know what might the problem be? It's not any hardware problem right? I assume the CPU is still ok since I could use microsft edge and spotify...

Please, any help or thoughts on this problem would be great,

Thanks.

Reset the CMOS. If you had done that earlier at the first crash you would have avoided all this. Once you've reset the CMOS, start the PC with only 1 stick of RAM in.

Yeah, unfotunately you made a rookie mistake... no point dwelling on it, but next time if you overclock and something isn't right, just reset and start again. Sometimes resetting the BIOS doesn't clear some settings, I had this happen to me before too when I OC'd and was trying to figure my problems with BSOD, it turned out that there was a remnant OC setting that was screwing with my system... clearing CMOS or re-flashing a new BIOS should clear it up. Most likely clearing CMOS is easier, depending on motherboard and access of course.

after the problem happened, I updated my BIOS and tried clearing the CMOS, none of that worked but I think im not clearing the CMOS right because the date on the BIOS was the same (1 of March at the time), I used a fan's jumper on the CMOS pins for 10 seconds like it says on the motherboard, I've also tried it with a screwdriver but it stays the same, but I'm doing exactly what the motherboard says so I don't know what I might be doing wrong...

But even if that worked, right now my pc doesn't even get to BIOS because of that early cpu initialization error...

thanks!

Pull the battery out if it's accessible instead.. I sometimes use a screwdriver blade to short the pins, but it's much easier if possible to pull the battery instead IMO, that way you know the job is done if in doubt.

Oh, and just to be on the safe side, don't forget to switch off the power before doing any of this... and hold the power button down on the computer to discharge the capacitors after turning it off. Then take out the battery, give it 15 seconds then pop it back in. Computer should boot straight into BIOS to get you to set the date etc if needed.

Yes, if by everything you mean the battery and power cord... but you don't have to remove the power cord, i only meant  turn it off at the PSU

I took my pc to a tech store to see what they could do about it, they tried my cpu and basically all my components with other known good components they had there, and it turns out that my cpu is broken, and probably my motherboard is broken too, they're not sure about the motherboard though, but the cpu doesn't work with any of their motherboards and is definitely broken and I think that might have been the problem since the beggining
