Hello forums,

My pc started to fail te recognize my boot drive, i have to re-assign the drive in the bios. After doing that it works for a few boots (1-10). And then i have to assign it again.

I can see both drives in my bios, but for some reason it doesnt boot from the SSD. (it shows my HDD (without windows) in my bios as the boot drive)

Things i have done:

Used diffrent sata connectors on my mobo.

Changed both cables to the drive.

my setup:

  • CPUIntel I7-6700K 4.6 ghz
  • MotherboardAsus Maximus VIII Ranger
  • RAM2×8 GB corsair vengeance LPX DDR 4 2666 MHz
  • GPUMSI Radeon R9 280X GAMING 3GB
  • Casecooler master haf 922 plus
  • Storageseagate 2TB 7200RPM and Crucial MX100 512GB
  • PSUCooler Master V700

Operating SystemWindows 10

Thanks in advance for any help

The problem is still there after setting it to AHCI.

The bios update program "Asus EZ update" tells me there are no updates available.

NOTE: the exact error message i get while booting is: "MBR error 1"
