Hi,

I have just started using my new built pc and after an hour the pc started being hot, even the case is warm

Is this normal?

Depends on the actual temps of your components. A general warmup is normal; afterall, the electrical energy has to go somewhere....

if you can't figure out exactly what your temps are, you can use open hardware monitor. It will tell you the temps within your computer. 75 degrees celsius and lower is perfectly normal.

You know how it is, the cow goes "moo", the dog goes "woof" and the gamer goes "The PvP is unbalanced."

Also, this may seem um.. unnecessary? but make sure you have exhaust fans.. Not trying to seem like I'm insulting anyone's intelligence, just have made that mistake before way in the past.

If by system fans you mean case fans, then yes, either go with balanced or positive pressure inside the case 1: for good airflow and 2: keep those nasty lil dust particles out.

Yea I have 1 of those getting another in a week

That's probably the issue then, If you're not moving that hot air out of there, the whole thing is going to heat up fairly fast. I typically go with 3 "case fans" 2 intake and 1 exhaust (not including my exhaust from my cpu cooler)

I wouldn't say "normal". However, it is expected.

The temp is fine but the case is so warm, is that normal?

Whats your setup? Hardware and fans, case too. If its smaller case with GPU and CPU cooler right next to case walls, it will get bit warm. Also side behind mobo will get bit warm right under where CPU is. Its actually good thing since you steel case acts as dissipation surface for heat.

The simple answer here is... all the components are producing heat when the pc is on so yes if the case gets warm it is normal.... If you can grill a steak on it then it is not normal.

Maybe it's the aluminum panels on my case, but it has always felt like cold metal to me with proper airflow.

yeh got cold metal as well here

but he did not mention which case he is using for all we know it could be a raven or a node 202 which would not be surprising if it is getting warm :P

It's a fractal case 1300

Okay, being a Micro ATX chassis it probably will get warm-ish, However, From the reviews i've seen on it, it has exceptional airflow and even good watercooling support, which brings me back to the fans.... From what i saw it comes with 2 case fans out of the box, yours didn't?

where do you keep it, is it in a well ventilated area? also what cooler and gpu are you running? also i went to check on my HTPC witch is in a mATX CM Selencio 352 with only the integrated gpu on the motherboard, and a phenom 955 with a "better than stock cooler" and some HDDs. The system is mostly idling and it has two intake fans Fractal Design something and one exhaust fan and the whole case is warm to the touch but the temps are fine so i would not worry about it.

Should have thought of this sooner.
