depends what you need... money wise it seems fine

if you need a GPU not an SSD then sure

The guy is trying to get 30 out of me now I told him i would give him my old r5 230 which he can sell and get the30. I have 3 480gb ssds I was trying to get pcie Intel 750 series throughput. Adding a 3rd ssd only upped my throughput to 1180mbs from 1020mbs, so I maxed out my south bridge. So its not worth keeping the 3rd ssd.

It's actually faster than a 960 IIRC.

The original agreement was a strait trade then he wanted 30 on top so i told him I would give him my r5 230. Honestly I am totaly fine with my system as is the only game I play is civilization V which the r5 230 plays maxed out. But Iw ant to play COD WaW, TF2 and Battlefield 4 and try out computer gaming again. Also it would be nice to have a balanced system.

Seems kind of shady. Have you seen this 7970 working or are you trading blind? An ssd is a safe trade in my opinion, a used GPU is risky.

 

7970s with reference coolers usually overheat like mad if they're not well looked after. That's been my experience so far with about four of them over the last couple years.
