Msi Geforce Gtx 970

I built my first computer put it all together booted it up and all thought it was fine till i glanced and noticed ive been running my pc without my graphics card fans plugged in so i turned off the computer unplugged it connected my fans and plugged everything back in turned on computer and no image shows on my Tv. So i unconnected fan turned pc back on and the image shows.. wondering why doesn't any image pop up when i connect fans but when they are not connected i can browse the internet and what not. When fans are connected my screen says that nothing is connected so it wont even load bios. ( My computer is connected to my screen with HDMI)

How many fans do you have connected to how many headers?

If I had to guess, with the fans plugged in it's shorting out. Did you buy this card used?

my computer itself has 4 fans that came with the case they are all plugged in 2 are plugged in on the motherboard and 2 are plugged in through the fan control on my tower & my graphics card has 2 fans built in it that i am trying to power

That's a bit odd that the fans were disconnected when it came.

Can't really offer an answer other than it is shorting out.
