I just noticed that storage spaces on my server is saying that the array is degraded. I have 3 2TB drives in the array in parity. I can see all the drives in device manager, and storage spaces doesn't seem to be pointing out any particular drive, so I am not sure what the issue is. I have some of the drive bays attached to the motherboard, while others are attached to a supermicro sata expansion card as the machine has 18 drive bays in it. I ran a smart test, and it is only picking up 2 of the 4 drives in the system which seems odd (3x2TB for the array, and 1x500GB for the OS). I looked at the server, and I am seeing disk activity for all 4 drives.

Any ideas as to what might cause this, and how to fix it?

In the attached screenshots, anything that is listed as fibre-channel is attached to the expansion card.

OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 x64

Ram: 16GB (8x2GB ECC)

PSU: Redundant 500W

CPU: Xeon E5420

Mobo: Supermicro X7DBN

Bios: Phoenix 2.1x (7/4/2011)

SATA expander: Supermicro AOC-SAT2-MV8

I do have 4 free pci-e 4x slots, so if you would recommend going with a different sata controller, I am open to it, as long as it is rather cheap, as in less than $50 USD. I want to stick with windows storage spaces, and still have SMART capability too.
