Strange Xonar D2/PM Problem

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

I just had a small amount of success i did what you suggested and installed the Xonar Unified Drivers , however i got about 10-15 seconds into a song before they cut out again.

Like I said, it's probably dead or close to it. Just RMA or return it and get your money back. If I had a dollar for every time someone started a thread about crappy xonar cards dying, I could retire.

Its a bit of a strange issue i'm having i've just installed my sound card drivers installed fine and windows is detecting it it should all be working, i get no error messages to say somethings wrong sound just simply won't play from it, after a bit of help not sure what you guys would need to diagnose the issue

Sorry to be a stickler, but things like this belong in troubleshooting. Someone 'round here might have an idea though.

Have you played around in the settings at all?

Just like many threads like yours, it's probably dead. RMA it.

Try uninstalling the drivers, run Driver Sweeper to clean out all the junk left behind, then reinstall the latest drivers off ASUS's website or try out the Xonar Unified Drivers (3rd Party).

Yeah, it's probably dead.  :( I suggest following Mr. Mayflower's recommendation of RMA'ing or returning the item if you can.

Guess ill just have to bite the bullet , any recomendations on a new card? just had a quick look at the sound blaster x-fi titanium

None!

Unless you need/want the virtual surround or whatever other "features" a card has, I'd recommend a FiiO E10.

Why would you buy another sound card? It's going to eventually die just like the one you just bought.

If you are looking in the $100 price range, look at a dedicated headphone amp.

Something cheaper, (not as good).
