DualGpu No Crossfire??

Hi guys,

 

My dual-gpu card suddently doesn't have crossfire options.

both of the cards are registered on msi afterburner.

 

Crossfire doesn't activate (only one card in use), and crossfire settings from amd control panel are gone.

 

Nothing has changed in regards to drivers or windows updates or anything.  Poof, gone.

 

Any ideas?

Could the card be going bad? It IS an old car afterall.

I'd test each card individually and see if one is not working first.

Oh its a 6990 my mistake in that case is one gpu not working at all or is that only the case in games?

It's a really old card. I doubt I have warranty on it? HD 6990.

 

-It's a DUAL-GPU card. I don't think I can test each card individually on it?

try reseating card in the PCI-E, clean install drivers

done. Both cards are found, and can be selected, all show info perfectly. (All 3 cards :P)

I would try to take out the 8500 and see if it helps (why do you even need it?) . also i see you are running Catalyst 15.8, update to 16.2 and see if it helps.

Uninstal all the drivers

Then install the newest drivers

Also, remove the Nvidia 8500GT card.

BTW, I would also try to open a game and see if GPU-Z tells something different.

Try running a game that is known to support CF. and see if CF wont turn on.

I just tried a few, like Grid 2, Shadow of mordor, Fallout 4, rocket League.
None of them are running Crossfire Only one card.

At this point, I would try to uninstall and install an older driver.. because something is definitely weird here.

Already tried. Didn't work

 

Could it be the "Internal Crossfire Bridge" thingy is fried?

Last time this happend, I Baked the GPU, and it started working again. It's really weird.. Just trying to solve it without baking this time, lost the dirty oven

Maybe a shop that specialize in re-Flow can do something about it.. but ye, that sucks.

not in my small town haha.
I don't even know which chip handles the crossfire..

shame google cant bake it for you. I hope you are saving for a polaris/pascal NEW GPU, ITS time..

When is it coming out???? ---Gonna start saving up then.
Won't the new series just be a rebrand?

Probably some will be rebrands, but the whole point is new GPU's based on the 14/16NM process.

do you have any idea when they'll be out?

Cause my half 6990= 6970 = 30 fps on low-mid 1080p fallout 4.
