power supply died

my PC died once because of my psu & motherboard burned, so i replace it with new psu and mtherboard which is 500w cooler master vr2(or something), and MSI lga1155 (cheapest in the market), and my PC spec is 

 

intel core i5 2310

asus GTX650ti boost

4gb ram

500gb hdd

500w CM psu (new replace)

MSI lga 1155 (new replace)

 

the problem im facing now is the PSU had died after 1 month usage ... my local PC shop owner said that the PSU died because of GTX650 have suck all the powet throgh the cheap motherboard causing the PSU died... is that really coud happen?

A 650ti only takes a max wattage of 110W according to nvidia http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650ti/specifications, and they recommend a 400W psu so most likely it was a bad power supply.

do u mean the psu is a broken before i buy it.... or just my bad choice and need a better psu (higher watt or better brand?)

Adding on to what the previous poster said, it is important to research on a good power supply. Not all PSUs from a reputable brand are good, like Corsair's CX series and CM's Elite series. You are lucky that the PSU just failed and nothing else happened. There have been cases of crappy PSUs popping and in other cases, catching fire. 

 

You need a better psu, although not necessarily from a better brand. CM's V series PSUs are great.

To clarify, only the straight up V. VS is terrible.
