Asus Z97-a Booting problems

I have used my pc for a while now, everything was working. I wanted to reapply thermal paste on my couch which I did,.  I try to turn it on and the power button on the case and mobo doesn't work. The only way I get the fans to spin is to place the cmos jumper on the two pins below it whatever those are.
