Hey guys so I didnt know which other topic to put this in so I put it in this one. Anyway I upgraded my pc with a gt 730 graphics card to help with gaming. I upgraded it less then a week ago. I noticed that my graphics card is getting really hot and I am worried that this might be a problem in future. I have two case fans in my pc but they are very small. Anyway is there anything I can do or buy that I can put on my pc or underneath or whatever that can fix this problem.

Thanks in advance.

What sort of case do you have? A picture of the machine's interior would help us asses the issue.

I could get a pic of it. I will put a photo of it soon. The card only overheats during gaming while im watching a video it is not hot at all. The case is the one that comes with the ASUS CP6230 series computers. So just search up that pc series and you will be able to see the case.

Check if there are any programs which are trying to 'boost' or overclock your graphics card. Sometimes third party manufacturers add this as a default.

Quote me if you want me to reply.

Brand Blacklist: Gainward, Silverstone, Cougar, Gigabyte.

It very much seems like an airflow issue considering how restrictive that case looks. Is your card a passive type without a fan?

looking at pictures of that case it would seem that your graphics card can barely breath, it looks like the only space for a case fan is that little 80mm at the back? correct me if im wrong on that.

There are two case fans one at the back and a slightly bigger one in front.

How hot is it actually getting? I've had far more toasty cards run fine in far more constrictive places.

My card has a very small fan on it but the metal on bracket gets hot so does the side of the case where the card is. Also this card is factory overclocked.

The card is factory overclocked and I think the driver cd came with MSI afterburner but I dont think that would be running in the background and overclocking the card by itself.

Its getting pretty hot to the touch I might just be a bit worried and this wont have any effect on my pc in future but I really just want to make sure that this overheating wont break anything and if it will how can I fix the overheating before it does.

Touch is not a good way to see how hot something is getting...

Use something like HWMonitor and see what it says.

Could you just give numbers. Hand is really inaccurate way to measure temps. Your body temp is about 35-37C and anything above that feels hot to you. If it would be dangerous temp, you'd have burns (90C+).

I would also like to see which exact model of GPU we are talking about. Its first time I hear media grade GPU is factory OC'd. As for problem with case, you could mod it and cut hole right next to GPU to help.
