I have the i5 6600k, 16gb of corsair dominator 3000mhz ram, and nzxt kraken x61 on the Asus maximus viii hero alpha. I can get in bios and everything is detected, but when I try to boot into windows on my Samsung Evo I get the preparing automatic repair and my comp restarts again and again in a loop. I've tried booting off another psu, a different mobo, with every configuration of ram (even a different kit) changed sata cable, and nothing works. I know my copy of windows 10 is good because I can boot with it on a different computer. I think it's the processor, any ideas on how I can confirm, or should I just rma it?

Welcome to the Forums!

It sounds like potentially the startup files go corrupted and is unable to repair with the pre-existing auto repair, you can try using the boot ISO and try the startup repair from there but if it is still not capable of repairing it you will most likely need to reformat. However your data should be intact and can be retrieved manually and backed up.

Thanks for feedback everyone, but i can plug ssd into old build and windows loads up perfectly?

Is it loading windows from the SSD, cause it can be potentially using boot files from the other drive in thre.

Also how did you install windows onto the SSD were there any other drives in place when doing so, cause the boot files can potentially be put onto the non-OS drive so it's best to unplug everything else when installing windows.

Hi, jbaez101 was posting for me. So I have taken all storage from my old build and put it in my new build. I was able to log into windows for awhile, I overclock ed my i5 to 4.5 ghz with auto core voltage. It was running fine for a couple hours so I left it to run overnight, when I checked on it the next morning i had a black screen so I turned off by holding power button. Ever since then I've had the problem, I've taken the oc off, and have loaded the optimized settings on both motherboards. The only time it all works now is when I put my ssd back on my old build

Update: i just put my ssd in my old computer and it said the problem (from new build) was inaccessible boot device. Idk what the hell is going on, how can I be able to boot on my old computer with my ssd, but not my new one? The only thing that is different in this new build is my processor, ram, and mobo.

Sounds like potentially your boot files are corrupted, hopefully that is the case and not the main partition on it. From the looks of thing I don't think the boot files are repairable, I would do my best to grab all the important data from the drive by using another system and having the SSD as a secondary drive. From there you can take off the data and keep it somewhere safe and wipe the SSD afterwards for a clean install in the new build. As said be sure to unplug any storage drives during the windows install to ensure it puts windows including the boot files onto the SSD.
