i plan on just playing games and browsing the internet and not video editing or photoshop

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-vs229hp

i was wondering would this be a good IPS monitor and does the response time matter a lot in gaming?

should I get a monitor with a tn panel?

in my build I don't want to spend over $150 on a monitor and It must be 1080p

please reply with your monitor suggestions

In my experience TN is better for gaming and IPS is better for beautiful looks. That doesn't mean to say you can't use an IPS for gaming… I would go to a shop and see what you like best

I'm not sure if you'll be able to find a sub-150 IPS panel. TN panels are generally better for gaming due to the higher refresh rate but they have lackluster colour and are inferior to IPS in almost every way.

PLS strikes a good balance between the two; and if you can find one of those for sub-150 it should be good.

Check Costco - I think they have some Samsung PLS panel for $100.

Primary Build: i7-4790 · 16GB Hynix DDR3-1600 · Sapphire Tri-X R9 390x · NZXT S340 · Win10 Pro · Seagate Barracuda 1TB T_T

Portable: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13" · i5-5257u · 512GB PCIe SSD · Intel Iris 6100 T_T

If my post helped you, please rate it!

I think I found the monitor you were talking about but I can't see the price because it is a Costco member only item and I don't have a membership with Costco http://www.costco.com/Samsung-27.0%22-Widescreen-LED-Monitor-%5b1920-x-1080%5d.product.100119098.html
