Hey everyone, first post here after lurking for a while. Building an HTPC for my parents cabin, and I wanted to get input from the community. This will not be in use 24/7, but will be left on so i can remote in if trouble arises. This will store something around 200 normal DVD rips, and approx. 60 Blu-rays, bringing the total Gb count to something around 2520 gigs. My plan is to install windows, and setup a plex media server which will play media to the TV its connected to, and up to 2 streams (phones, tablets, etc.)

That being said, here is the current build. Any revisions or suggestions are appreciated (with the exception of the drive, WD all the way)

I would add more RAM. You could get away with a lower i3 or a g3258.

Alright Will do, also @TheGeeker Would a lower i3 or the G3258 be able to handle a local playback as well as 720 or 1080p plex streams? Dont know jack about how intense streams can be on CPU's.

A g3258 should do just fine

@TheGeeker Alright sounds good, did some google fu to confirm and looks like itll handle a local playback and a stream. As for a cooler, since id like it to be quiet but dont want to spend $50 on a noctua cooler, would this work?

Just use the stock one guezzz. Its not that loud and will be fine..... BUT! Yes I would get a noctua cooler for the PC build sanity side of things
