Ok, I'm trying to help my friend get Windows 7 on his old gaming computer that has vista. Right now that computer is doing some screwed up black screen thing every time he logs in, but he has no files on that computer he cares about. He has access to a mac, and a windows 7 key. We need a way to get a windows 7 ISO, and instructions on how to wipe his old hard drive of the plague that is Vista, and slap Windows 7 on that sexy little drive. Any help?
Update: I just googled and found a Windows 7 ISO, so I'm cool on that front. I need to know what to do with that ISO on a thumb drive, and how to get that on my bud's computer instead of that crappy broken Vista install.

As far as wiping vista, don't worry about that, cause the windows 7 install will basically do that for you. When you have booted from the install usb, just make sure to delete all partitions on the drive you are going to install windows 7 from, then select the empty space on that drive and you are good to go.

Ok, thanks. This is probably a really dumb question, but does he just stick the USB in, or what? Like, specifically how do we do this? We're both Mac users up until really recently.

Misleading title is misleading.

You just have to use some ISO tool to put the files on the USB. Then you boot into the bios (that's the 'press f5 to enter menu' thing you see when your computer boots up and set it up so it first boots from the USB instead of your main drive. Keep in mind if your computer has that UEFI secure boot thing you may have to disable it. And then your computer will boot up from the USB so you just follow the instructions to upgrade windows.
