Huge Windows update?

So yeah my PC came up with a restart to install updates prompt, as is the way with these things I told it to wait and delay the update. Again as is the way with these things it decided to do it anyway a short while later.

 

Think I'm a little confused about is rather than just a quick configuring windows 10 on the login screen it went into the full Windows 10 installer screen where it had the round progress bar with the percentage and the whole copying files, installing drivers etc.

 

Has there been a massive Windows update lately or has anyone else had this? Just found it a little weird especially since looking around I can't seem to find any notable update like a service pack which I would expect it to do this for.

That's been like that for as long as I can remember.

Never seen it do that before, only ever seen the typical 2-3 minute configuring updates message on the login page. It made me panic a little as I thought it'd be a service pack or something but I can't find any evidence of that anywhere.
