Text Cursor Lag

So following an upgrade of the office laptops with a bunch of Crucial BX200 240GB SSDs (they're running, mostly, sweet as a nut now), all of our laptops are displaying an odd problem. When typing in Outlook 2016, the text cursor almost seems to lag behind the text. Here is an example:
 

I have tried changing the properties in Windows but to no avail. This is a problem exclusive to Outlook 2016, so I didn't think an Office regedit would work, but I tried it anyway. Again, no luck.

Has anybody seen this issue before? And if so, do you have a fix?

It's not so much disruptive as it is annoying.

Does Outlook 2016 have a smooth typing animation that you can disable?

I have tried looking for an option for smooth typing animation within Outlook 2016, however, I could not find any such option. Any options that sounded similar did not fix the issue.

i remember i had this issue when i got MS office 2013. it was a stupid smooth typing animation that was causing it. i cant remember how i fixed it, but im certain the solution lies within some obsucre settings menu.
