Yesterday, I tried installing some ASUS software, but my pc froze and I had to restart it. But now, my keyboard nor mouse works when I get to the log in screen of Windows. I have an ASUS motherboard.

  • They work in BIOS and safe mode
  • I have gone into safe mode and: uninstalled the program I was trying to install, disabled all mouse/keyboard settings and restarted, and disabled all programs on start up
    • In device manager, it says the keyboard and mouse are working fine and there are no driver updates
  • I have gone through the BIOS to see if the USB ports were disabled, and they weren't
  • Tried to reinstall Windows, but it always tells me there is a problem in doing so

So, is there anything I am not doing? I don't have a bluetooth or ps2 mouse, so those aren't options at the moment.

Any help would be much appreciated

It would be helpful to know what the error message was.

Maybe try CHKDSK /F

I don't get any type of error message. It says something like this was unable to be done, or something, then asks me to restart my pc
