exactly. If you are on a cheap, it's definitely a good buy.

Ok hello everybody, I build my pc ~7 months ago, and today I started to hear strange noises from my hdd. (I'm pretty sure that's hard drive, because i can't imagine that other components would sound like that)

It sounds like a lot of small trtrtrtrtrtrtrtr noises (I don't even know how to explain it.) Should i replace my hdd?

(My computer had some physical punches (because I had some parties in my house ;/) But these occured ~4 months ago and nothing happened, except some front panels popped out (worst thing that pc was on but was in sleep mode))

Help me pls

just backup the data first! then wait it to die... then ask a replacement. you have 2 years warranty.

yeah that usually indicates a dieing harddrive. replace it asap.

EDIT:

i personally have a second PC with a harddrive that always sounds like that and i'm pretty sure it'll die soon but it's been running (super slow) for like 2 years now :D

You never know though ;) Better save then sorry.

50 Cent posed an interesting question in the song "Candy Shop"; he asked, "You gon' back that shit up or should I push up on it?"

In this case, I recommend backing that shit up. ASAP.

take this opportunity to go buy an SSD maybe; most of them come with migration software.

You could get the speed of an SSD and not lose your windows license key!

I know Samsung SSDs come with migration software that clones your entire drive. VERY easy to use.

as for the performance boost: you will suddenly be wearing leather pants with a playmate under each arm while driving 3 lamborthinis at once.

Ok so I have Gigabyte H81M-S2V motherboard, and could you please give me some cheap ssd models that are compatable with my motherboard?

And linus talks about raids when he adds ssd or hard into his system i don't know what it is can you explain it?

Crucial BX200 is super cheap and good.

You don't have to worry about raid ;)

raid= redundant array of independent drives

It's basically an automatic backup system or an speed acceleration, depending on your configuration.

You have to have at least 2 drives though
