I'm not sure if a 960 can run 3 monitors including a 4k monitor. I would suggest at least a 970, but more realistically a 980 or a 980Ti.

You don't play games, but do you think you would in the future? If there is a possibility for this, get a 980 and that will cover you to play most current games at 4k on High (not ultra)

No no no....

That is way WAY overkill for non-gaming 4K. You can push 4K desktop support on modern integrated GPUs... 960 is even overkill. 950 would do but I'm sure someone else can point you to something even cheaper.

Looking to replace a 6 small monitor setup with a 3 monitor 4k setup (2 1080p and 1 4k...)

Do a little basic CAD work (about 5% is CAD) (think visio) but no gaming or high end video editing, Most will be remote administration of workstations and networks and will be used to access my business software (web based).

Current setup is a 9800GT with 2 NVS 295's only think that was slow or buggy was large visio files.  (displays were 2 - 1440 by 900 and 2 - 1280 by 1024)

Sorry not much of a GPU guy (got the NVS because I thought they would be better than the 9800GT (nvida chose the GT card as the primary...) Ya epic fail so would like to save some money and ask for help...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(the GTX960 is what I was looking at getting...)

Also perhaps look into getting an Ultra Wide monitor. I have a 34" 21:9 and I am in LOVE with it. I'll never go back

Thought of that but its expensive and loose vertical pixels...

No I treat this as a business pc, so no gaming at all, not even in future.

What if i get a 960 and only run the 4k display and put the 2 - 1080p's on one of the NVS295s...

The 970 Is a big price jump from a $210 card  but if the 960 would not be good for basic cad and rdp then I guess I could try and find a used 970...

Not really getting the 4k for quality getting it for the pixels and space so thats why I thought I could get away with a 960 and have plenty of head room...
