things that would atlest make it a bit cheaper for similar preformance:

air cooler instead of AIO, something like a hyper 212 evo or one of those awesome noctua ones that i cant remember the name of

single 980TI would be cheaper for similar or better preformance and more constant preformance because some games do horiably with x fire and SLI

dont go with Razer gear if you want to save money

16GB of RAM is usiually enough

this could save you some money atleast

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Depends, ultimate build for gaming? Then yes.

Ddrop the hexacore and go for a 6700K, will save money on the CPU and the mainboard, also 16GB of RAM is enough for gaming by far.

There is also no need for such a large SSD when you only game since games don't really get anything from it, get a small for the OS and a 4TB HDD for the games

Drop the optical drive or get a cheak USB one....

Drop the wireless adapter and get a MoBo with onboard wireless

Razer is overpriced, better and cheaper options out there

You can cut down on the case, take a fractal one for half the price

For editing and work? You can just save when it comes to peripherals...

I think he meant:

Can a system with similar/better performance be built for less? I'm wanting to spend somewhere closer to the the £2000 mark.

Not likely, but you really are overbuilding this in some strange areas. You probably shouldn't be spending more on you motherboard than your processor, especially since it is still a K SKU, a 980 or 980ti would really be more worth it in the gpu department (which if you do that, you won't need an entire kW PSU saving you some money there), and finally, make sure you really need that bluray drive. You can save some more money by skipping that and getting a 20$ dvd burner if you don't know if you need to use blu rays (which you probably won't need to). Buying used is always a good option. See if there is anyone nearby on Craigslist selling their computer parts for cheaper. As a final note, make sure to check out logicalincrements for a better idea on generally balanced builds at your price point. They do focus more on multimedia but once you get to and past the 1000 USD range, the parts lists also become pretty nice content creation workstations.

Could you do a pcpartspicker list of 4k gaming/editing build or $2000 to $2200?

Open a new thread and ask for a parts list. State you budget and describe exactly what you want to do with the machine, then people can give you proper part picks for it. :)

EDIT: To clarify, I wouldn't use this thread for it since the original topic is really not the same.

If it was upto me i'd scrap the Razer products all together and get corsiar or ROCAT take the I7 and RADEON stuff out and put a xeon and maybe a GTX Titan  or if you're going budget wise probs a 980 or a 750ti and just get another PSU and GPU.

it wont come up with available 780ti's
