My computer keeps crashing at seemingly random times after exiting a game with the error code BAD_POOL_CALLER. It then crashes on startup a couple of times before returning to the login menu as normal.

I recently buildt it, and tried overclocking once, though i turned it back to normal right after I failed.

Keep in mind that im no technical guru.

Have you been able to access the operating system without error before the issue came up, or has it been problematic since built?

I have had problems since I built it, but it seems it is happening more recently now

This might seem a little harsh, but I wouldn't even try to overclock with that intel cooler.  You absolutely need to restore defaults in BIOS.

In my past experience invalid pool requests are usually tied to driver problems.  I would remove all drivers and re-install them or even do a fresh OS install.

I just reset the BIOS(didnt change anything), and am wondering if i need to reinstall drivers. What drivers do you think i need to reinstall?

Go into device manager and see if any exclamation points pop up.

I would uninstall/re-install chipset, GPU, Ethernet, wifi, and anything that you think could be at fault.

To add to the recommendation to reinstall your drivers, I've seen cases in the past where the registry PagedPoolSize value sometimes needs to be increased to 0xFFFFFFFF. I can't really explain why this is the case, but some hardware and driver combinations seem to be more sensitive to it (the GeForce 500-series, IIRC, was bad about this). It might be worth giving it a shot.

I'd also download and flash the latest updated BIOS from ASUS; There have been many stability updates released over the past six months for the Z170-A, so it could be that this is resolved in the 1602 revision.
