So I bought a AMD Phenom II X4 955 only to realize that my prebuilt systems mobo has a TDP of 95 W and the Phenom requires 125 W. I bought this CPU only because I wanted to have a decent system before I had enough to get something with a i5 - 4690. My question:

Should I return the CPU and save up for the i5 system...

...or...

...buy a new mobo + Windows license and reuse the parts from the old system and later just change the whole thing (with a i5 system)?

One option is getting an AM3+ motherboard for cheap to replace your current one (at least the 970 chipset, with 990FX of course being the best).
