No it's not.

You need a CPU Cooler.

... No but seriously. Paste itself is not thaaat important (which one you take... If its a noctua paste, generic, Arctic cooling, etc). They differ in some degree.

What's important is the CPU Cooler.

If you use Boxed, you can use the best Paste you can find. the temperatures will be bad. And Bad -2°C is still bad.

before you "waste" 11 bucks on a thermalpaste, you might as well spend 11 bucks more for a better CPU Cooler.

Other than that... Which AMD CPU, which Clock speed, which Motherboard, how much Voltage, etc etc? So many more factors to consider ;)

Is generic insignia thermal compound enough to cool my cpu(8 core amd)?

Yeah it'll be fine, in the end of the day thermal paste is thermal paste unless you're using toothpaste you'll be fine

The most important part is applying the right amount of thermal compound, maybe watch a video before you do it to get a good idea.

I have 1st hand experience with it. I had already wasted money on it and wasted so much time repasting over and over because I thought I was doing something wrong, before I read a review comparing to other pastes. I wish I had read the review before I bought and wasted so much time. The cure time is ridiculously long and in the end it doesn't cool for shit. I don't get why it's so popular.

you can use mayonnaise anything to separate the heat spreader to the cooler itself,  that is you know, able to conduct heat

Not sure what you're getting at. Are you insinuating AS5 is good?

I'm not insinuating anything.  I'm saying that it definitely isn't bad.  I too have had first hand experience with it...actually hundreds of first hand experiences over many years.  I've never had an issue with it or seen any major differences in temps compared to other TIM.  I agree that there are ones that perform better...and I have made a point to try out many different types.
