Greetings.

I'm new to steam, and just installed it to avail the deal they have on Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum Suite. However, I couldn't help but notice that its default directory was in 'C:\Program Files (x86).

Out of curiosity, does this affect program functionality at all? All of the other x64 software I have autoinstalled to either the main 'Program Files' directory or right onto my 'C' drive.

Regards,
Aereldor.

the install directory can be anywhere, and changed by the user.

I boot off one SSD and run programs on another, so i moved my library there, and i have a second directory for slower programs on a HDD.

the speed of the drive is the only thing that affects the program.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

Steam is 32bit software. Thats why it installs there. It doesn't effect anything. You might want to make another folder on your HDD if you have small boot drive.
