Still no interent access :(

time for a new router then

So within the last hour, my wireless router has been giving me issues, which is that, i am not getting any internet access from it.

I am going form my ISP Modem to a network switch which then goes to my desktop, laptop and wireless router.

The laptop and desktop both have internet access from the network switch.

The wireless router make and model is:- Netis WF-2404

I tried turning it off and back on again(multiple times), tried different Ethernet cables to no avail, i tired connecting my laptop directly to the wireless router, still no internet access.

My suspicion is that the wireless router is dead. Can anyone confirm or deny that and offer some help please, Thank you.

Are its lights on?

If so, open terminal, and run ipconfig, find the router's IP address and using that access its control page, and see if it displays any messages.

there are some ways to test this.  First of all, learn what all of the light on your router mean to determine the issue.  You could also try acessing the router from you desktop or laptop by typing in the IP in ur address bar in a web browser.  If you can't access the router from being directly plugged into it, it's dead, but if you can access it, than it's strictly it's capability to actually passthrough/broadcast the signal.  Find the reset switch on the router/do it remotely via the client in the webbrowser and see if that works.

I can help with programming and hardware.

I can access the Routers UI and all lights are on. I'm going to reset the router next then :(

Asus AC1900 or Google Onhub are both good choices.

DHCP loop?

Can you unplug all the LAN-side ethernet cables on the router? Just leave: switch to WAN (in) router.

It could be that you've ran 2 ends of the network back into the network, creating a DHCP loop. You can see this when the lights flicker very fast on the router. you're also not able to get to the router UI. Faulty homeplugs cause these to.

...or the router is broken...

I've never come across a Netis router before here in Europe. I can't judge the brand.
