Hi guys,

i am planning on building an HTPC for my TV. On this PC I want to game a little bit (CSGO, BF3) watch Tv and watch Youtube and Twitch. It doesnt have to be small since I will put it in an case I have lying around and this case will be in a closet. Also I dont need a HDD since I have some lying around. What do you think about this build?

Do you already own the Q6600, board, memory, and 750Ti?

No i dont own them. But I can get them used for pretty cheap here in Germany :D

I'd probably be considering going with a Haswell i3 and 8gb of ram instead -- it would cost about 20€ more but would offer better performance in more games, plus the extra RAM. either way, both systems would be fine.

Looks good. Maybe go with a newer platform and pick up some cheaper memory. It might actually be worth it.

195€ vs. 172€

If he went with an i3 he could also skip the hyper 212.

So with which platform should I go?

something with ddr3 since that is extremely cheap. Either Amd or Intel. My HTPC runs an FM2+ board with the 7650, but you can go quite a bit cheaper than that with an athlon x4 or something comparable.
