Hi,

I've just installed Windows 10 and so far so good - it's kinda fine. But I've got a problem. I noticed that the "please wait" circle right next to the cursor appears quite often even when I'm doing nothing! It means it's doing something in the background without me knowing it. I checked it and it automatically installs or tries to install drivers, programs and those annoying apps that I don't need at all.

How do I stop Windows 10 from automatically installing stuff? I like to do it on my own...manually.

As said above this is the one problem with 10, But as long as you have a decent computer with a good internet conection it souldn't affect performance too much :)

As you recently upgraded to Windows 10, Windows does a lot of things on the back.

 -> Windows Update

 -> Indexing for fast search. (The more data you have the more time it takes)

 -> Update Apps

 -> Defrag (if you have an HDD)

 -> TRIM (if you have an SSD)

 -> Executes its maintenance cycle

 -> Caches the start menu

and I won't be surprised if I missed 1-2 smaller things

Let it do all these things. Some of them does it only when your system is idle.

Some of these can be execute manually. Like Windows Update, Updates of Apps, maintenance cycle, and Defrag/TRIM.

Since about everything is an App in Windows 10, even Windows calculator, I would let Windows Apps update.
