PC Needs games Like Ace Combat

One thing that I loved playing on xbox 360 and ps2 back in the day was the Ace Combat series. I started playing them at Ace Combat 4. Fell in love with it ever since. Once Ace Combat 6 came out for the xbox 360, I was in love. Next gen graphics made it so amazing. It did sorta lack the classic AC feel but it still remained on of my favorite flight arcade games. I also remember playing Over G Fighters for the more simulation feel on the 360. I cant tell you how many hours I had invested into that game. I also remember when HAWX came out. Wasnt the greatest game ever, but the selection of aircraft from the cold war and up was perfect. 

 

So this comes to the purpose of this thread. 

 

PC needs more arcade-ish flight games for modern aircraft. We have a ton of WWII arcade and simulation games but no good 60's and up games. And the ones that are out there are such a pile of ---- that they are not even worth playing. Lately I saw that Ace Combat 7 is in the works but is only planed for PS4. That was kinda a bummer to hear as I was hoping they'd bridge it to the XB1 as well or even PC if we were really lucky.

damn Aerowings looks so ahead of its time back then! thats pretty badass.

 

 

and I saw air brawl on steam the other day. Looked interesting but I feel it would get repetitive with the small number of air craft and maps.

I LOVE Ace Combat 4 and 5, I still have the the discs but AC4's disc is looking rather rough from so much use.

They weren't anywhere near sims but they didn't have bonkers aerial flips and tumbling like HAWKS and Ace Combat Assault Horizon, they were Hollywood arcade-y but not Micheal Bay arcade-y.

 

The story in 5 was great.

Overly dramatic enough to be fun but not so much that it became intolerable.

Plus is has Eddie Frierson doing a spot on impersonation of Bill Paxton.
