Fallout 4 SPOILERS

This is probably a weird topic for this forum, but I'm sure a lot of you play Fallout 4, so here goes.

I just beat Fallout 4 and I loved the game all the way up until the end. I sided with the Institute, and the ending was super vague and more of a life lesson about how fast things can change.

That's cool and all, but the great thing about Fallout endings was seeing how everything in the world changed with your actions. This didn't do that AT ALL. 

Did I just get a bad ending, or what?

I found the entire second half of the story ridiculous.

The fact that Shaun is like 65 is ridiculous.  It flies in the face of every aspect of the story prior.  

It felt like they wrote the first part of the story and just decided to add a twist with no thought to logic.

@rmac52It honestly had me. I thought that was going to be the case, Shaun being older than the player and it would be crazy, but when I saw synth Shaun in Kellog's memories I really believed he was a 10 year old kid.

Kellog didn't age from when he took Shaun out of cryo too when he was killed.  

We are given a view inside his head to find memories of the institute.  Don't you think if he was somehow pushing 100 and knew Shaun had been out of cryo for some 50 years we would have seen it in his head?

There is no evidence that the institute has the technology to extend the life expectancy of there people.  

If they wanted Shaun to be older then they could have made it work out with the story.  

 

It is just lazy, bad story telling.  After all the hype for the game I was incredibly disappointed.

institute ending kinda sucked in my opinion the better ending was if you didnt join the isntitute then when to see Shaun at the end and he acted like you were dead to him.

thta bit got me untill it bugged out and real shaun never showed up  thank god for console commands

@rmac52Kellog had those Deus Ex stlye cybernetic augmentations though. One of the institute scientists had to clear that up. Still a weak story point though.
