Windows update and driver update problems

Hi all!

 

In this post, I have 2 problems.

First a little backstory. 4 months ago I bought a new pc, installed windows 7, then immedietly an upgrade to windows 10.

Windows 10 became crap for me, so yesterday I rolled back to windows 7.

I installed all the drivers and programs, but then the problems rose.

 

Problem #1: Windows update

Windows update wont stop checking for updates, at all, not with the win update troubleshooter or anything.

 

Problem #2: The driver update service in device manager.

When I right click on anything in the "Other devices" section, and click on update driver software and check online, its just stuck on "searching online for software".

 

Id appreciate all the help I could get

I think you can set windows updates to always or just manual.

 

Not sure about the driver issue?

What do you mean by manual?

You can either set it to check for updates always or only do it when you tell it to, I think this is your problem but not quite sure?

Well whatever setting I choose it is ALWAYS stuck on checking for updates.

Download the program called O&O ShutUp10. It allows you to disable automatic Windows updates and automatic driver updates.

Did you rolledback to Windows 7 (a feature in Windows 10, that allows you to remove Windows 10, and put back your computer how it was with your previous version of Windows) or did you re-install Windows 7?
