I assume it is soft. I would not recommend heating up the tubing because you could damage it and it will not really do that much for you.

Someone suggested to heat up the ends of the tubing before putting it on the fitting, claiming it made a better seal, I'm using fittings and tubing of the same size. Is this true?

Thanks

For soft tubing it can help it fit of fittings especially if it's thick walled tubing, by dripping the end in hot water for a little bit.

I wouldn't bother. You could end up damaging the tubing with the heat. I didn't do that and so far no leaks. I would recommend tightening the fittings every few months since the tubes may warp after being heated and cooled repeatedly over long periods of time.

Oh man, one no, one yes,  it's 3/8 x 5/8 btw,

Dipping it on hot water will not damage the tube but if you can easily get it onto the fittings then you don't need to do that.

Heating up the tubing using hot water isn't going to be a huge deal -- just make sure it's just hot and not near boiling. If you have a coffee maker, run it without grounds and the temperature of that water will be just right after you let it sit for a little bit. But before going that far, put some distilled water on the fitting first, as that could give a little lubrication to help get the tubing onto it. If that's not helping much, then go for the hot water.

Unless you melt the tube onto the fitting, so does it not make a difference at all.

Only reason to heat the tube, is to getting it proper on (if you have that problem), but hot water will do that just fine.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.
