Problem with solid the bend radius ain't great. Only good for backbone cabling or horizontal. 

 

It would be a problem with Work Area cables due of being not "flexible" as stranded

Yep, that's why I said IFF you don't need that much.

 

Cost per foot is definitely higher for the 100m I linked.

cat 5e will be just as good for that if you dont go beyond gigabit

There is no reason to get Cat5e, go with Cat6A. And if you do your own wiring, buy a spool, else you cant get Cat6A on amazon, or any other retailer.

Unless the RJ45 connectors are not on correctly or the cable is damaged its very unlikely the problem is the cable. Have you tested your ping to another device on your local network?
