psu not powering on

just tried to power on my psu alone as i have noo mb to test it and it wont spin ip. ive jumped it and nothings happening, help.

You're sure you're shorting the correct pins? 

 

If not, it could be dead.

i just put it in an old system and without pressing the power switch on the case, it powers up when the switch is on the psu, any ideas?

now i have no post but the bios beeps to say it is posting???
