Mic Problems with Hyper X Cloud

My friend has a hyper x cloud headset. Whenever he tries to use the mic ingame the audio comes out really low pitched and augmented. The mic works fine in skype and has no weird audio problems. Anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried any other third party VOIP programs such as Mumble or Teamspeak...or whatever else there is... Discord.... Raidcall... ?
