Unless you are trying to get a silent build, you should get a PSU with a fan.

(Please dont judge build. its of personal preference. )

The total wattage will be around 350-380Watt for the system (I believe this is max load on everything)

im just wondering if i should use a 120mm, 140mm, fanless, passive, with fan. I do play games so im just wondering what psu type would be best.

Location: USA

Budget: Up to 100, but im trying to get a decent priced one.

Looking at the EVGA 550Watt superNOVA  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438049&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-BD%20Industries%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10440897&PID=7718204&SID=pchound

The G2 variant of the 550W SuperNova might be the better pick from the GS (the G2 has a perfect review by JohnnyGURU, a notable PSU tester and reviewer), plus it's on sale right now.

Nvidia recommends a 400watt psu for a gtz 960 system but as you have the z97 sli and i know it very well as well as all your other system devices i would go with a 500 watt or higher psu for mild over clocks. my favorite because of price and reliable performance atm is the cx600  600 watt for 55.00 on newegg so why not at that price. may wanna step up to 970 or amd some day :)

as for judging your build mate, i find it very nice so why would anyone say bad things about it?

Fanless solution is often expensive because it needs superior components to fight the increased heat, this also reduces effiency and lifespan. Anyway, with other loud components (e.g. gpu coolers), fanless PSU doesn't make any sense.

There are several kind of fan, so passive mode fan is not necessary if it is high quality, silent optimized one.

With smaller fan you need more rpm to maintain the same amount of airflow which means that your psu will be louder overall (think about cpu stock cooling solutions). Bigger fans are always better.

I recommend to measure your PC's soundlevel (in dB) and pick a PSU about the same value to find the balance between cost and silence.
