I bought the Lenovo y50-70

4K Screen, i7 4700HQ, 16gb ram, 250gb ssd, and a 860m 2gb for under 1400$

There's better and cheaper options out there, the 4K screen got me though

That would be uber trashhhhhhhhhhh for gaming.

I preferably wouldn't want to spend over 2000 for either. I want to be able to manage playing games like Fallout 4 in a medium or even better high graphic setting with out having the frame rate annoying the hell out of me or running it on low settings or having it crash on me. I know its pretty demanding but i want something nice for college when I want to distract myself or if I'm done with work early.

At 2000 USD, you can build a great gaming desktop.

CPU: Intel i5-4590 | Motherboard: Asus H97M-E | GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 390 | RAM: 2x4Gb Kingston HyperX Fury Black | SSD: Sandisk Plus 240Gb HDD: Seagate 250Gb  | PSU: Seasonic G650 80+ Gold | Case: NZXT S340

I am who I am.

That is exactly why I didn't like the new Y50.

The old Y50 had dual mobile gpu's in it. That I suggested to a friend. I really am not sure what to get nowadays.

My uncle recently got a new laptop but he had no budget so I got him what I thought was the most powerful ...

What concerns me most isn't only the power you get from a laptop but...the deterioration of components in a laptop. All the laptops I've encountered (within my experience that is) have started off by playing games at high settings and gradually decreased over time while playing the same game.

Whatever you do, do consider cooling as well :D

Well if you wanted a laptop I couldn't recommend anything.

However, if you want a good desktop to run fallout 4 and the like, heres a good build within your budget with lots of adaptability. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Km2w99

I'd switch that 970 for a 390 and stick an SSD in that build.

Better Price/Performance

interesting but the i5 is a bit slow in my opinion. i have a 6th gen i7 on my laptop and it works amazingly with my school work and courses. Yet my delema is my laptop prossesor isnt fast enough and my graphics card is shit.

A desktop i5 cpu is not slow compared to a mobile cpu processor. Like the ones that are common in today's laptops. It actually probably beats your 6th i7 laptop depending on what i7 is in your laptop.

My Gaming Rig (Build November 2014):

CPU: i7-4790K | CPU Cooler: H110 | Motherboard: MSI Z97s SLI Plus | RAM: Vengeance DDR3 1886 MHz 2 x 4GB |
GPU: GTX 970 G1 Gaming | SSD: 2 x 840 EVO 250GB and 2 x 850 EVO 250GB in RAID0 | PSU: HX750 | Case: Fractal Design XL R2 |

Yea your right it does beat my i7 but not by that much well maybe. it runs at 2.8 GHz. Well interesting i might look into the rig but i want to see if there other ones out but the rig you sent me with both what the other guy said might do the trick. Thank you for your opinion its gonna help me to pick out.
