Hello everyone.

As you may see I am quite new to the forums but I decided to ask it here because I thought this was the place where I could really be helped.

So far i've only had a desktop once back in 2002.

The rest of my life i've always had a laptop and never really had money to get a desktop.

I finally decided I want to build a gaming PC but I got no clue what a good set-up will be that is also future proof (With this I mean that I can also play the still to be released games like GTA V and etcetra), at the moment I have 500 euros but i'm still getting quite some money from my summer vacation job and i'm currently looking for a new job, I want to spend arround 1500 euros maximum, now there is a catch to the budget though, as I never had a desktop before that means I got no monitor, no keyboard, only a Razer Abyssus (Mouse for who doesn't know it) and the rest I still need to buy.

(Gaming headset too but this can be put on hold for me to buy later).

Would anyone be willing to co-operate with me to build a good set-up, I can build it myself but I just got not much of an idea on what parts to buy.

Thanks in advance and thank you for your time!

Friendly greetings,

QuantumGQ

I live in the Netherlands, I might want to add that I want to use it purely for gaming, I got a laptop for school where I do programming on.

I'd like something like a 24 inch monitor and I want to play on 1920 x 1080, I like that resolution.

P.S I'm kinda of a Intel / Nvidia fanboy but If anyone can tell me why an AMD part would be better for me I wouldn't mind considering it.

Will I have any advantage if I take the hashwell processor over the 3570K?

Also is the Kingston Black memory really good? I've mostly been looking at the Corsair Vengeance sticks.

Also the CPU cooler could that be used if I ever wanted to OC or would I need something else for that?

haswell has more sata ports and generally better boards.

ram is ram but it doesn't hurt getting better ones.

haswell tends to get hotter and you may really want to get better cooling.

U could go for water cooling though if u want to overclock.

lachyman shows a nice configration, only i had some bad luck with Corsair keybords (the K90).

I had 3 new keybord replacements with in a year, they all had defective led-lighting.

So i replaced it with a Logitech G710+, works perfect!

Stil have my Corsair M60 mouse, but id had some problems to, loose glidepads, and bad firmware.

With the latest firmware/ software it works fine.

That SSD is a waste of money and he doesn't need anything extra on the HDD side. The cooler will be perfect after using OC genie, which OCs the CPU to 4ghz. I don't think he will go for manual OC, since he never had a desktop.

Looks alright, but there are a few changes that i would make:

1: 750 watt is overkill. A 600watt is more then enough.

2: you can get a 7970 from someone else for like 50 bucks cheaper

3:Just my personal preference, i would go with a samsung ssd, because they make amazing ssds.

Yes, the new micro architecture means you will have better power consumption in idle and all that kind of stuff, but mainly because the Z87 boards are so awesome. The Kingston RAM is awesome. The CPU cooler should handle any sort of overclocks, also you can Auto OC the CPU via OC Genie IV.

When I do a build for 1.5k, it is supposed to be expandable, so I chose a PSU that can handle XFire. 2nd hand GPUs are BAD if you mean that, also that model is the best on the market, no stupid Gigabyte with voltage lock or Saphirre's blue PCB, I have a TF III cooler and I can't hear it, that is why I picked it. Also Samsung 840 EVO is overpriced in Europe and basic is worse than the one I picked.

You can't be sure about that. Every processor is different. And lower temps are always better.
