Ok, so first off, I am a fairly new system builder. I have an AMD FX 6300 and a GTX 980 WINDFORCE card. The bottleneck game is strong with my build. I was planning on upgrading to an FX 8370 here soon, but I have been told that this would be a great upgrade and would eliminate my bottleneck. However, I have also been told that this will not help at all. I want to stick with Team Red only because I just built my system over Christmas and I'm not too excited on buying a new CPU, mobo and RAM.

I know for a fact that I would be happy with Intel, I just don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. I just want to know if sticking with AMD is right for me or not.

Thanks all!

The AMD is gonna bottleneck. I made the same mistake going AMD and even worse by going FM2+

Try to sell MOBO and CPU on craigslist.

Get an Intel CPU and compatible MOBO, You will be very happy.

Get a 2nd hand 8350 for cheap. If you cannot afford Intel, no need to overspend. In modern games, the 8350 will perform close to an i5 4460

I wouldn't recommend to upgrade to a 8370, you'd just be throwing money away. I'd wait and upgrade to Intel when you have the money.

You can save some money by going haswell since I assume you have ddr3 ram with the 6300 and haswell is cheaper and very similar performance, that's what I would do anyway, 6600k is also an option but more expensive.

DO IT! You'll love it. Trust us, Intel is where its at. If you ever feel you need more power, you can pop in an i7 in the future.

Don't keep wasting money on a dead platform that'll get you nowhere and that doesn't have modern features.

Then get the 6600k and ddr4, as that is the best option if you go skylake in terms of price to performance if you OC
