Honestly PCIE 2.0 wont gimp any current card especially at the 400 price point. People wonder why we have pcie 3.0 when 2.0 wasn't even close to utilized and the answer is because gaming doesn't require it but there are plenty of things we never do that do utilize the bandwidth.

As far as cards go what kind of monitor do you have? Do you plan on upgrading it anytime soon? Are you looking for a value or are you willing to spend more of your 400 to get something that is going to be overkill? A 380 for instance will wreck in most games at 1080p 60hz. Yes there will be points where you may dip to the 40's in the most intense sections but its no big deal. Dollar for dollar at the 1080p mark this will probably be the best value. If you just want to slaughter every game at 1080p 60hz a 390 will do that but honestly you are paying for performance you wont fully utilize. The 380x is probably a compromise of these two. Not dollar for dollar the best value and it will still have points where it chugs just a little bit.

I will probably wait for midrange Polaris it will have full dx12. I had read that it will have much lower tdp.
