Mod Ideas

Hi Everyone!

I have been system build for three years now and I just got a somewhat large order. This guy wants two identical PCs for LAN parties. Nothing too special (i56600K,GTX970). But he also wants a personal rig with custom water cooling and he wants it to be...MODDED! I already case up with the idea of two buttons on one of the 5.25" slot covers that each turn on either the leds in the case or under glow lighting. This is a good idea, but I want something more. I want to include a military switch:

but I don't know what to hook it up to. I also would appreciate other ideas.

It's easy to hook up, a power button simply completes a circuit long enough for the pc to know to boot

But to get it to OC, that is the hard part.

I already know I'm doing the lighting. I can hook up a circuit that makes it put out a pulse instead of a toggle, but how would I get it to OC?

To the OP: Case lighting would be the easiest to pull off.

Do you have a "Reset" button?  What about an "EMERGENCY" loop shut off? Is there a way to do that?  Then when you water cool it, do external cooling with dual Reservoirs that sit outside the case on a 93 - 65 degree angle.

Ah, I misunderstood, I thought it was intended to be a power button. Perhaps have an internal USB that when connected auto executes a program that activates a profile in afterburner? The switch could just cut power to the USB? For cpu though that'd be tricky

Making it an emergency shut off is easy (Making the switch connect the 12v power coming from the molex connector that goes to the pump), but what would it be useful for?

Like I said, in case of an emergency.  Maybe he notices the loop somehow got contaminated and wants to shut it off. Maybe it springs a leak. I do think you should have reservoirs coming out the top though.

Maybe wiring a button to replace an OC button on a motherboard?  Or maybe there is a way to do a custom BIOs where, before you give him the PC, you set up a good OC that'll run stable.  The button would toggle to that BIOs and instantly OC.

My motherboard does not have a quick OC button:

Is there a way to do my BIOs idea on the graphics card?  Because the Graphics Card may have a dual BIOs switch.

I don't know if it does. He wants the EVGA GTX980 Superclocked
