Yes I have the two monitors, but if I can get a new one without affecting the quality of the build to much I would like to. I have the OS already and size and color scheme are not important

Please quote people if you want them to notice. Sorry it took me a while, I'm on my phone :P

I kinda rushed this but other posts are going to be very similar. All I have to say is PLEASE get a R9 390 over a GTX 970.

After shipping and merchant changing, it'll probably end up closer to $1,100.

I would say that the 6600k would be a better processor for gaming and streaming simultaneously.

A 6600k would probably be better than a 4690k, but in my opinion it doesn't fit $1,100 with the still higher prices of Skylake compared to Haswell.

Also with rumors of Haswell-E you might even be better off waiting.

he did also mention that he has two monitors already, so getting a better CPU and living with your old monitors may make more sense.

Our builds are practically the same outside CPU, his just costs more.

If you have the money definitely pick up a 6600k, but I have no idea how strict the OP's budget is.

My budget is pretty strict but I can wait a few more months to pick up a new monitor if need be.

Ok. If you are OK with your old monitors, spring for the 6600k and OC it. If you really want the new monitor, the 4690k would work decently. Just know that if you want to upgrade the CPU in the future, you will most likely need a new MOBO with the correct socket type.

If you have a strict budget and still want Skylake you can pickup a i5-6500, which is only $200.

I personally don't think you need a 6600k, as both will max most games anyway, but it will help you for sure if you do stuff like streaming. (I didn't see anything about that in the original post but if things like that are done, then a 6600k will definitely be beneficial)

I agree. If you cant fit the 6600k, I would go the 6500 route. I believe they sit in the same socket aswell (don't quote me on that) so upgrading to a better i5 or even i7 should be no problem, as long as you get a good, OC enabled board.

6500 is same socket (LGA1151), but doesn't natively support OC. You probably can OC it, but with news that Intel is disabling OC for non K series processors may disagree with that.

I'm digging it. I like the decision to get a boot SSD, I think you'll like the read/write speeds a lot. Do us a favor and let us know when you have built it, and if you are satisfied. I love to know if we actually helped!
