Yes.  that would work well.  Just change the SSD that uses a better controller like a Samsung 850 EVO.

what you linked was my server build (at least thats what opens when i click your link). The RAM and motherboard aren't in any way compatible with a 6600k.

You don't need 16GB of RAM for gaming.

Changed the SSD because the 850 Evo is more reliable and has better speeds.

Changed the GPU because the R9 Fury is overall better than the 980, for about the same price.

Changed the case as well, because imho the one you chose is a tad overprice.

You could also go for a non-K i5 CPU (non overclockable), and another board for a cheaper price. If you're willing to spend more, however, you could get an AIO liquid cooler or the 6700k (still fits in budget).
