16GB Ram?

Hey! Just out of curiosity, do any of you know of any games that really benifit from 16GB of Ram over 8GB? I'm thinking of upgrading I don't know if I can justify it though because from what I've seen none of my 170 Steam games require more than 6 Let alone 16!

Running minecraft with a 512 or higher resolution texture pack. Or modded MC+server really eats ram.

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

Never can go wrong with more RAM.

I would do it as RAM is so cheap these days.

Main gaming pc: Lian-Li Lancool II Mesh Performance - Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI GTX1080Ti Armor - AMD Wraith Spire RGB - ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus - Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 2x8GB 3200MHz - 500GB M.2 (and a few other drives)

Gaming laptop: ASUS GL552VW: i7 6700HQ - GTX960M 2GB - 8GB DDR4 2166Mhz RAM - 1TB 7200RPM HDD

Games don't really matter. It's what you do while gaming. I, for example, have countless chrome tabs open with livestreams, temp monitoring software etc etc, I'm usually hovering around 8-9 gb used ram, depending on the game

Ever try running the ftb unlimited or other huge mod pack. It gets so bad fast.

Honestly in my opinion, there are very few games that benefit from 16GB of RAM. But as someone said above, running a lot of things at once could use a bit more. But if you're running games alone, you shouldn't have to many problems. Take for example: Planetary Annihilation, it runs better on 16GB of RAM, but that's because it was coded very sloppily and etc. But yeah haha

Case: NZXT S340 || CPU: i7 4790k || Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO || GPU: GTX 770 || Mobo: Z97 PC Mate || Storage: 240GB Sandisk Extreme Pro || RAM: 4x4GB 1333mHz

Normally I'm just gaming, the most I'll ever have on in the background is a movie/podcast/YouTube/Facebook... you think I'd need the extra Ram?

I don't know of many games that would benefit from 16GB of RAM. Hell, I've had 30 Tabs of Chome open and run CS:GO and I STILL only got to 7GB of used memory. (was pushing it to see the limit). Max I've seen a game use is 3-4GB for itself

If you use firefox there won't be a problem. Chrome on the other hand eats endless ram...

I prefer Chrome, in a lot of instances it's quite a bit faster and the way it integrates with YouTube and stuff is pretty cool. I get what you mean with the ram usage though!

I've actually found Chrome to be slower. Been swapping them regularly during the past 3 months, definitely sticking with Firefox

I'd show you my ram usage but I'm not near my PC right now. All in all I'd go for 16gb. Why? Multiple reasons. Ram's getting really cheap. (heck i bought 16 gigs of 1866mhz ram for 150 bucks) It's nice to 'brag' about, for as far you can nowadays. With 16gb you'll be 100% sure you'll have enough.
