Windows 7 Updates Issies

Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

Yup. It affects all Win 7 users, and older OS. When the OS gets old, Microsoft has a tradition to put it all on a slow/old servers. As the OS is old, it has lots of updates, and a flaw in the Update system (fixed in Win10 by just giving you the latest updates, and not the in between ones) it has a massive number of updates. The best is to jump direct to SP1, as suggested to accelerate the prices by cutting a lot of updates, then leave the computer overnight checking if it still takes time.

Is it connected to a network?

Current Build: Core i7 4790k @ 4.6, Asus Maximus VII Hero, Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400mhz 8gb (2x4gb), GTX 980ti, NZXT Kraken X61, Fractal Define R5  EVGA Supernova B2 850w, Some 300gb hard drive.

I just came back from a walk and it's decided to start working! Thanks for your help nevertheless

I recently Redid my 7 Ultimate on my PC and found the same challenge, however if you encounter it's taking forever to do anything (I assume it's going to take forever to locate anything and will do the sneaky win10 dumb in the bg too) I would just hit up the major downloads directly from MS, Jump it to SP1, grab .Net, DirectX etc.
